Office Affairs: Does It Work at Work?

Ever had an office fling?
They are everywhere, but beware: Office affairs rarely work out.
Why?
Well for more than half of them, the other person (if not both) is usually married.
Simply because the excitement in office affairs is not the fact that you are crazy about the person, it's the fact that you both work together.
Close working relationships can easily morph into romantic ones because the two of you may be in close quarters with a lot of eye contact, and maybe even flirting.
Will it last? Can it last?
Well, it could blur into your professional performance at work.
If it's the boss then those lines have already been crossed. Also, when it comes to bosses, other employees usually find out some way, somehow.
But more importantly, is there a way to get out of it and remain employed?

I had an office fling which turned into a relationship. It was weird b/c we would hang out ALL the time. We would go to work together (h/e parting ways b4 walkin thru the bldg doors) we wud eat lunch together, and then go home together and hang out on the wkends.
December 5, 2008 at 10:00 AMBut it didn't seem like we spent TOO much time together b/c we were having fun. I ended up finding a job which paid more and I left the company, but he and I still con't to date for some time after that!
Would I do it again probably not. But I do think there's a way to get out of it and still keep ur job (depending on how it ends).
