Will People Boycott Kanye West?

Not that most of us would know Taylor Swift from the checkout girl at Whole Foods, but it's the blasted point: Kanye, take your meds, bro, for real.He's 'SOOOO SORRY' now.
Whether it was Hennessy or what, the "College Dropout's" interruption of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at last night's MTV Video Music Awards left a sour taste in everybody's mouth.
As a result, many radio stations are saying they won't play anymore Kanye West music, and more importantly, many fans are raising the issue of boycott. People calling into radio stations and web sites are raising a big stink about Kanye, and rightfully so.
The latest antics just may cost the Jay-Z protege the goodwill of the people, and his most loyal fan base. As we all know African-Americans aren't the people buying hip-hop these days, and Kanye just might feel his latest outburst in the pocket.

Interestingly, Kanye West has apparently interrupted Obamaas well.

Prince Unveils New Protege'

The purple one recently unveiled another female protege, the prototype of which fits somewhere between a Vanity, a Sheila E., an Appolonia Kotero, an Ingrid Chevez and a Mayte.
Prince thinks of Bria Valente as a Sade, according to a recent article.
“We got sick of waiting for Sade to make a new album,” Prince told the New York Times. “This music is nasty, but it’s not dirty,” he said, referring to the sexual lyrics. “There’s no profanity. It isn’t promoting promiscuity. She’s singing about her lover, who could be her partner for life.”

Bria Valente, or Brenda Fuentes as her mother called her, hails from Minneapolis and has done background for Usher and danced for Prince for a few years. She's hot, but can she sing? And does it matter?

As Rihanna Reigns, Ciara Stumbles Out the Gate

Don't call it a pushback.
While the music world watches, Ciara's album "Fantasy Ride," which was supposed to debut this year and propel her to megastar status (she even did a nearly nude photoshoot to build attention), has ... been postponed until spring 2009.
Even with the T-Pain-produced "Go Girl," the lead single peaked at No. 79 on the charts.
But now Ciara faces an impossible task as her album faces being pushed into the whirlwind buildup of the last pop diva out there: Beyonce.
The "Sasha Fierce" LP, which got a shot in the arm last week when the single "Like a Boy" hit No. 1 in the UK, will notably be an event in U.S. record stores as the economy continues to clamp down on spending and credit. But not only is Beyonce staking her claim to precious consumer dollars, but Rihanna is gearing up for a major throwdown; on the male side of things Chris Brown is reaping awards, and Neyo is busy choreographing in support of his "Year of the Gentleman" CD. Her handlers thought aligning with T-Pain would automatically put her in the stratosphere, but the plan has apparently backfired. Now can Ciara move serious numbers in the spring? How can she possibly follow up a nearly nude photoshoot in Vibe to promote her pushed-back album? Go, girl.
Update: "Fantasy Ride" is set for a May 5 release.
