Woman wins $15K in bikini wax From hell

Imagine you wanting a bikini wax in anticipation of several days in the tropics: Sun, fun and yes, all things pleasurable. You reserve an appointment to get your procedure done, which involves simply removing hair around the pelvic region.
Well, one woman got more than they bargained for when the procedure ripped her labia. Yep, her labia. Now, I don't know what that is, but it's GOT to hurt.
According to news reports, she sued for $500,000 claiming damage to her esteem as well as loss of sexual intensity and desire (po thang).
A jury awarded her $15,000 and told her to watch TiVo.

Politician: Virginity 'greatest gift you can give'

Evidently, in Australia, a hman's virginity is not worth the breat he uses to acknowledge it. Not so though when it comes to women, according to off-center politician Tony Abbott.
Addressing a women's group, Abbot said he'd tell his own daughters that "the greatest gift that you can give someone" is your virginity.
He said the pureness, the innocence of it all would be in constrast to the blood, sweat and tears that a man gives.
Good thing Abbott was Down Under, and not in Chicago or Baltimore. That's the last thing young males need to hear is that their sperm is useless (of course, they already hear it , some for good reasons).
Of course there are those who say that what Abbott said was the truth and they see nothing wrong with it , but the fact that he prefaced his argument as if to say that male virginity was less sacred, not as much a big deal, well, that's unfortunate.

Jayne Kennedy: The First Celebrity Sex Tape

With the rash of celebrity sex tapes popping up these days, it is good to remember that Jayne Kennedy was the first celebrity sex tape. Husband Leon Isaac Kennedy (shown in the picture with boxer Muhammad Ali) released the tape after the two had divorced in 1982. While Leon managed to break into black film, it was his wife that catapulted the couple into the American lexicon.
Jayne Kennedy was big at the time, positioned as an "Oprah" before Oprah, but with the looks of Tyra Banks. In addition to being a model and actress (breaking many barriers for African American women in the process) she was the first woman to break into the NFL as a broadcaster.
The sex tape devastated the careers of both of them. Leon is a reverend now.

BET Plans Channel for Grown Folks. Finally

Black entertainment channel BET, known for booty-shaking videos and chitlin circuit comedy, says it is finally going to cater to the long-neglected black middle class that it has claimed to worship but never reflected.
According to a report in the NY Times, Centric will make an October debut.
The report says Viacom is aiming at the 25- to 54-year-olds with Centric. The type of viewers they want? "A perfect example would be” Barack and Michelle Obama, said Scott Mills, the president of BET.
Yeah right, BET. TV1 must be pwning that booty.
I wish them well, but don't think they can appeal to their higher selves long enough to make a real dent in African American viewership.

BET shows up pretty people in 'Harlem Heights'

On March 2, BET will bring Grown and Sexy to the TV screen with the debut of their long-buzzed about reality show "Harlem Heights". With a recession going on, BET is banking on its audience's penchant for voyeurism when things are falling down around us. Will the show be a hit? Depends on how much we really want to see pretty people talk about sex, cheating and other old subjects. The show is basically about a loose clique of friends that are all urban professionals. The word is one of them (Brooke Crittendon) used to date Kanye West, so of course she's looking for some shine on her own.
