In Britain, they're called 'Uber-Chavs'

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Britain, long known for being ahead of the curve in most ways than one, is seeing a phenomena of young, single women born to young, single women reach adult - and basically do nothing with their lives (well, unsavory things).
This Telegraph article quotes the deputy head of Cantrell Primary and Nursery School in Bulwell, Nottingham, as saying: "We must talk about a class of uber-chavs. They are not doing anything productive and are costing taxpayers a fortune.
"It is very difficult, almost impossible, to take these people now and provide basic social and work ethic skills."
Sound familiar? I'd venture to say the U.S. has had them some "Uber-Chav" for some time now.

Those LowDown"Down Low" Brothers

Delusional. That's the only word that aptly describes. What's going on.
Webster's describes it as "something that is falsely believed or propagated; a persistent false pyschotic belief ..." You get my point.
If you're a downlow brother, sister, european, asian, native American, Aborigine, whatever. You're gay.
You are not straight.
Women being shocked by their men over this occurrence is reaching epidemic proportions.
Few things are worse than a person pretending to be something they are not.
Wives are being betrayed, games are being played. But as the sun comes out, there will soon be no shade.
To think, this whole phenomenon was underground until this New York Times article a few years back shot it to the Earth's surface.
Even then the repercussions were slow to ebb, but still we have yet to explore the other nationalities (whites, hispanics, native Americans?) that are living double lives as well.
When will they come clean?

"Risky" from VH1's "Real Chance at Love" launches modeling career

Confident with a "Mad Max" meets "Baps" style about herself, Atlanta's very own Risky, from "Real Chance at Love" fame has begun modeling. The Mabelton, Ga. resident says that she is a "very independent, hard working, loyal, determined, smart, creative and unique person." Does she have what it takes to make it in the modeling world (more pics below)?

Lil Kim joins "Dancing With the Stars"

Monday, February 9, 2009

Proving that the word "star" is being used loosely, former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor, songstress Jewel and rapper Lil Kim will join the next installment of "Dancing With the Stars". Say What? I can't even blog about it.

"Seven Pounds" Breaks Will's Money Streak

Will Smith was the king of the box office this decade, but while the world was watching the Super Bowl and wondering who Etta James was, a historic feat came to the end: Will Smith's streak of eight straight movies breaking the $100 million mark is over, done, history, see-ya, audi-5.
"Seven Pounds," a movie that even I can't tell you how it was, can't seem to break over the $70 million mark. This is after paying Smith out of the whazoo, and bringing aboard Rosario Dawson, whom he worked with in "Men in Black II". All eight of his films, including the terrible "Wild Wild West" opened at No. 1 at the box office, but not "Seven Pounds" (to be fair, "Ali" and "The Legend of Bagger Vance" didn't crack the $1M mark either.). But what was it? Was it Smith? Was it Rosario?

Disturbia: Can Breezy Survive the Fallout?

Can Chris Breezy survive the fallout from last night's physical altercation with singer-girlfriend Rihanna?
Being from Virginia, he is officially, the Micheal Vick of the music world, but maybe worse.
The teenaged heartthrob from Tappahannock, Virginia, who was dead wrong for touching RiRi no matter what, will take a plunge in the image department understandably, but for how long will it hurt him? Jive Records had big plans for him in the studio after it became apparent that all the other young singers/rappers appealed to older fans rather than the bubblegum-pop crowd. Trey Songz, Lloyd, Bow Wow, even Ne-Yo all dabbled in Chris Brown's lane, but couldn't catch on as Breezy's choreography came right out of the Micheal-Jackson-School of Performing Arts (and Usher's). Ironically, it will probably be Usher who benefits the most from Brown's pending cruxificion, as the ATL singer has been largely abandoned by his crowd after the maturation of Brown and Ne-Yo came to steal his swagger.
As for Rihanna, she'll be okay. This too shall pass.

When a Man Loves Woman 101

Friday, February 6, 2009

Much props goes to my man D-nice ("Takin' out you suckas and you don't know how I did it!") and wifey Melinda Williams-Nice (Lol).
For all you youngens, D-Nice was a New York rapper-deejay in the 1980s. He rolled mostly with KRS-1's crew but never got major shine until he started doing photography. Now he is the source of the most-well documented stills of old school hip-hoppers on the planet. He met Melinda Williams after she was dumped unceremoniously by Mekhi Phifer, who did a Honey magazine interview in which he said Melinda complained all the time and didn't give him head like he liked.
Enter, D-Nice.
Brother scooped Melinda up and nurtured her soul back to health, documented the journey in a swarm of lovey-dovey pictures.
Check out D's relocated site here.
Real men, stand up!

The Hate-Motivatin' Life of Stephanie CalhounPorshe Foxx

Atlanta radio personality Porshe Foxx is kind of like that Kenny character on the adult animated cartoon "South Park." They'd kill Kenny in every episode, next show, Kenny would be back. Foxx knows what Kenny feels like. She's been fired (and almost fired) and brought back by radio station V-103 more times than one can count.
She still hasn't updated her Myspace page, which announces that she has been rehired by V103. That's so, so last year.
She was let go again last week under suspicious circumstances, according to Foxx.
Foxx, winding up a two-year contract, said she didn't know why the station let her go but that it wasn't because of drugs or alcohol.
But then she was named as a "person of interest" in a suspicious fire that burned down a townhouse in Union City outside Atlanta.
For her part, Foxx released a statement: "I had nothing, absolutely, positively, to do with any fire and I don’t know anyone involved."
Foxx was cleared in the fire a few days ago, but questions still linger.
See, several witnesses put Foxx at the scene of the blaze. Also in 2005, Foxx's home on Carriage Gate Trail in southwest Atlanta burned down as well.
Are we dealing with a pyromaniac or just a "mis-confrused" radio DJ?
Stay tuned: The plot will thicken for sure!

Octuplet Mom: 'It was a Dream of Mine'

Thursday, February 5, 2009

She loves the kids.
That's the simple, insane reason why octuplets mother Nadya Suleman, who lives with her parents, was artificially inseminated despite already having six kids, according to a "Dateline" interview.
Well, that, and the depression she suffered after being injured in a riot in a mental hospital. Sounds fishy to me. They call them riots in mental hospitals, they're called "episodes." And I think Suleman just had one.
She says a big family has been a reoccuring nightmare since she was small.
"That was always a dream of mine, to have a large family, a huge family," she said. "I just longed for certain connections and attachments with another person that ... I really lacked, I believe, growing up."
She'll also lack a husband as there are currently no eligible sane-thinking males that would marry an unrich woman with 14 kids who knows her way around a hospital like Suleman. But that's just me.
