Sanaa Lathan avoids critics of 'Tin Roof'

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

American actress Sanaa Lathan, currently enjoying a run in the play "Cat in a Tin Roof" in Europe, is throwing shade to all the theater critics.
Lathan is determined to play her role (Maggie) without the emotional baggage that comes from hearing the naysayers chirp.
"I learned my lesson a long time ago not to read reviews until the run is over because I don't want to get anything in my head about the performance until it's done," according to Contactmusic.
"Sometimes in this business you don't get to use all of your chops. This role is the pinnacle of roles for a woman my age. It's scary, challenging... she goes through a lot of emotions. I couldn't say no to it."
Neither can the critics. At least one has assailed her accent as being "all over the place."
Don't worry, Sanaa, "Tin Roof " is a winner. Let your haters be ya motivators.

Celebs tweet their love of Brittany Murphy

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Some people are loved, by a lot of people, but don't know it.
Actress Brittany Murphy, who died today at age 32, was clearly one of them.
The news spread quickly around the blogosphere, with updates by the minute, then her peers, the celebrities, took over.
"This is too sad. May God give her loved ones strength," tweeted actress Laura London. Other celebrities simply announced her death. Los Angeles police have opened an investigation into the actress's death, which comes at the end to a sorrowful year when it came to celebrity deaths.
The outpouring of support from celebrities, expressed in traditional news media, and also Twitter, proved that Murphy touched some people.
Many celebs just left a short note, testifying to the bond of friendship they shared with the "8 Mile" actress.

Lauren London shows off 'Baby Due' Look

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

You've heard of the Booty Do, but this is the Baby Due, as in the Baby Due Look. Pregnant celebrities Lauren "New New" London and Tisha Campbell were recently at events showing off their very pregnant selves.
London, pregnant from rapper Lil Wayne, is getting big in the belly as shown from the above pick taken from Diddy's White Party a few weeks ago.

Campbell, married to actor Duane Martin, is expecting her second child. Campbell has been chilling since her show with Damon Wayans, "My Wife and Kids," was cancelled (but you can see mad reruns on TV). She is reportedly working on a novel. The actress enjoyed acclaimed success opposite Martin Lawrence in the UPN hit "Martin" during the 1990s.
London registered on the radar with the film "ATL," in which she played T.I.'s love interest.

Beyonce 'Tightens' Grip on London

Friday, June 19, 2009

There is denim, then there are blue jeans: Beyonce wore some blue jeans yesterday in the Knightsbridge area of London, England, that will instantly cause a fashion attack for the impressionable.
Denim this time of year in the States is cool, but it's so darn hot outside! Go for the breezy cotton (not that thick stuff)or thin nylon to get through the day.

Celebrity Fangs: Chicks That Could Bite Cha

Friday, May 15, 2009

Some celebrities have prominent features that make them all the more recognizable. A great number of them have pretty teeth, but not too many of them have fangs, yes, fangs. These are just a few that, if they ever bit down on you, it'd be curtains.

Lauren London is cute, but she also looks like she could easily take a pint of blood with those incisors in her mouth.

The worst chomp would probably come from Kirsten Dunst, who played MaryJane in the "Spider-Man" movies. If the films were true to life, she'd have no problem gnawing through one of Spidey's extra-strength webs. Those molars look like they could perform surgery.
Dunst looks like she can drankdrink you like a Caprisun with those little stakes. And no wonder, a tween Dunst played alongside Brad Pitt in "Interview With a Vampire" as a little vampirella if you recall. Life imitating art?
