Who's the Most Hated Black Man in America?

Friday, March 5, 2010

Just the thought of him makes some people recoil in anger. His smile is one that calls to mind utter distrust and seething hate. He is, quite easily, the MHBMA, Most Hated Black Man in America.
Well, who?
If there was a poll, some would say Barack Hussein Obama (they won't let that 'Hussein' part go). Some would say Tiger Woods. Others would say, Al Sharpton, or how about Van Jones? Michael Steele, or even Chris Brown. But I think the two leading vote-getters would be Tiger and Obama. Why?
Well, let's just say Tiger has unearthed the dormant disgust of a nation sick of celebrity-worship and entitled athletes. Plus, he's recent cheating prowess is, well, unmatched.
Obama on the other hand, is, well, how can we say it -- remember in "New Jack City" when Nino Brown told G-Money to "sit your $5 butt down before I make change?" -- yeah, something about change.
It's deep, too. You know there are still people out there that think Obama is an immigrant? Fox News is contagious, people.

She cheated. She cheated bad. Now what?

Thursday, January 7, 2010

With all the "Liger Woods" drama that has captivated smallville we sometimes forget that the shoe often fits the other foot just as often if not as well known.
Yes, women cheat. To emphasize it a litte more, some women really cheat.
How can a man recover from such a betrayal? I mean, women are supposed to be innocent and fragile and nurturing and, well, sugar and spice and everything nice ... right?
Of course, men are supposed to uphold their end of the bargain and if 2009 is any indication, it aint hadnin.
Well, the Internet is full of men who are grappling with this very issue right now.
Some of them feel that they "weren't attractive enough" to keep them.
Some men are "paranoid" because of the woman's past infidelity.
Some of them have even "caught her in bed with another man" - well, I hope she stopped.
So, yes, it goes both ways, and both ways are shameful and wrong. But what now?
Does Oprah know? Does Dr. Phil know? How about Dr. Ruth?
Could Yoda share some tid bits?
Well, first off, leave the alcohol alone (makes it worse).
No. 2 - stay away from flamethrowers or any music by Sufjan Stevens
Oh, heck, you know what to do. You know what to do.
Leave. Or. Stay. Period.

Beyonce Channels Vanity 6

Saturday, November 7, 2009

You'd think an urban singer in a camisole would be a new idea in 2009, what with goody-two-shoes out there like Jordan Sparks and Taylor Swift, even, India Irie. But your girl Beyonce went 1986 with it in Europe recently, tapping into the raw sensuality of Vanity 6 (where is Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams when you need them)? Bey's risque outfit comes on the heels of a big uproar over her music in Malaysia, where Islamic fundamentalists say her work is Satanic.
"I do not know who agreed to this sinful, unacceptable advertisement, or indeed who agreed to these blatant sex parties," a Malaysian lawmaker is quoted as saying, accusing the government of encouraging "sin and debauchery."
Beyonce cleane up at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards, taking home three awards - Best Song, Best Video among them. And Kanye West apparently wasn't invited. Wonder why?

Does He Just Have to Have It?

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

In Spike Lee's big-screen debut, "She's Got to Have It," Nola Darling was documented scoring three admirers with her trademark charm and sass.
Along with the theme of the film -- the lengths people go to to find love -- was the very obvious subplot, that some people are simply sex maniacs.

But how would you know today if someone was exhibiting signs of said sex mania?
If they want it "morning, noon and night" and "in the eee'nin" as Jodeci once sang?
If they are reckless with it, demanding PDA at every turn?
If normal things like, say, passing cars, or pedestrians don't seem to mean anything to him or tamp down his lustful tendencies then ... well, you just might have yourself an addict on your hands (Sorry to some, you aint that irresistible).
Is it normal to always want it? Or is it cool to sometimes take a raincheck due to fatigue, I dunno, work, or church?
At first it may seem cute but when does it get a bit creepy?
Or does it?

Is Humiliation Sexy?

Monday, April 20, 2009

Something strange is happening with popular culture.
More and more images and references to mildly degrading behavior is gaining traction in our society.
Instead of the innocent displays of love that we once used to look forward to in human relationships, more and more people are becoming preoccupied with "dogging" it.
Are we all becoming deviants?

South Korean actress kills self, claimed to be 'sex slave'

Monday, April 6, 2009

South Korean actress Jang Ja-yeon, in a damning suicide letter, indicted the South Korean entertainment industry for making her perform sex acts to get ahead.
The issue has brought "sex contracts" to the forefront in South Korea, where top talent is expected to abide by agreements backed by favors.
Jang was the star of South Korea's No.1 soap opera and her death has just been the latest of celebrity suicides in the country.
It seems the USA music business isn't the only industry that robs its artists. But the bigger issue here is the sexual abuse alleged by Jang.
According to South Korean reports, Jang's agent, Kim Sung-hoon, who is now in Japan after being accused of molesting a male model, took the brunt of the criticism in the 7-page letter.
Jang reportedly claimed her agent beat her regularly and forced her to have sex with a film VIPs, directors, media executives and CEOs. The letter also claims she was forced to be an "escort" at golf matches.
Police, who have frozen the agent's account, raided his office and discovered a "secret room".
Question: How many people in the American entertainment business are sex slaves?
Check this link and also this one for the Korean storm brewing over there.

A taboo chapter in Black history

Friday, February 20, 2009

The year was 1972, and interracial dating had yet to be widely accepted despite the few dots of black-and-white couples that dotted the landscape around the United States. But for the Mitchell brothers, not only would their new porn film usher in the hardcore age, it would literally smash the remaining barriers between the races.
In the film, Marilyn Chambers, a squeaky clean actress whose claim to fame was an Ivory Snow advertisement, had sex with a well-endowed African-American actor by the name of Johnny Keyes. The scene was so electric that the movie "Behind the Green Door" took the country by storm. Chambers, for her part, fainted at the end of one scene lasting over 45 minutes. The porno industry and American audience was shocked by the still-taboo spectacle of a white woman having sex with a black man.
Although they've made up now, it was reported that Chambers' own parents refused to speak to her for several years after the film's release.
The movie and the sex scene was a dubious first for Chambers, Keyes and the country. And Chambers became a big porn star. "Crucial" Keyes' career in adult movies took off as well, but he eventually faded into the background. Chambers? She wondered in and out of porn for the next 30 years, making a film as recently as 2005 at age 54. But she's turned political as well. She ran for president in 2004 on the Personal Choice Party ticket.

Social compartmentalization: A theory

Monday, January 19, 2009

'After we had sex, our relationship changed," she said. Statements like those have been uttered millions of time over the decades and perhaps centuries.
Things were going so peachy between the two of you; sex seemed to mess it all up. Evr felt like that?
If so then you have probably stumbled upon the rationalization of compartmentalization.
Compartmentalization means fractionalizing your relationships into compartments.
This is all heady stuff, but if you think about it, it all stems from the basic social unit we all know and love: family.
Every other relationship is an offshoot, and derivative of that one. But because of our need (or lack of) family we compartmentalize our friendships.
Where there used to be just boyfriends and girlfriends (pre-cursors to husbands and wives), now there are cut-buddies, and simply hookups, "friends with benefits," etc.
So, as you sit and realize that you just had sex with a big playboy bunny, it all seems to sink in, we're all trying to get family, or what's familiar to us.
It all gets complicated after sex, doesn't it?
The questions are many: "Are we friends ... or lovers ... or was it (gulp) jes sumptin ta do?
The crux of the matter is: Do you have compartments for your friends?

Safe Sex: Do You Insist?

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Do you insist?
The both of you are hot and heavy, bodies are being pulled, tugged, rubbed upon, but do you insist ... on protection?
The numbers say, millions aren't.
STDs are on the rise, according to a new study.
A record 1.1 million cases of chlamydia were reported in 2007 with doctors saying the numbers reflect better testing, not necessarily more people infected.
The stats show an overall increase in STDs as more people choose to ignore safety for pleasure.
Syphilis, which was on the brink of elimination just 10 years ago, rose modestly.
Gonorrhea held steady. So, what does all this mean?
It means be careful as heck.
According to the latest statistical data:

In the U.S. 4.3 million people have chlamydia.
For gonorrhea, it's more than 800,000.
For herpes, one in four U.S. adults.
It means things are getting scary out there.

Was Sigmund Freud a Freak?

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Sigmund Freud was a freak. Known throughout the world as an avant garde Austrian psychiatrist, few people were allowed to be as kinky as Sigmund was in his professional life. Although he did much work in psychoanalysis, he is best known for his redefining sexual desire as the primary motive of humans. This was big at the time. For before Freud sex was seen as a taboo subject relegated to the dark bedrooms of the world, devoid of life, absent of discovery. Freud changed that. Was Freud simply a dirty old man who turned his profession out, and the world out, with his studies? Was Freud gay? The debate has raged for years. What is not debatable is that he had an insatiable appetite for sex and was possibly obsessed by it. There was one external stimulus though that may have attributed to Freud's success: cocaine.
Freud was an avid user and proponent of cocaine as a stimulant as well as analgesic. He wrote several articles on the antidepressant qualities of the drug and he was influenced by his friend and confidant Wilhelm Fliess, who recommended cocaine for the treatment of the "nasal reflex neurosis."
When the Nazis came, Freud and his Ukrainian colleague, Max Schur, fled to London. There they advanced their studies, on no more a subject that Freud himself, who at that time had developed oral cancer due to heavy smoking. Schur assisted him in suicide after reading Freud's note: "My dear Schur, you certainly remember our first talk. You promised me then not to forsake me when my time comes. Now it is nothing but torture and makes no sense any more." Schur administered three doses of morphine over many hours that resulted in Freud's death on September 23, 1939.

The Hidden Face of Sex Addiction: Women

Monday, October 27, 2008

Eric Benet.
R. Kelly.
How about David Duchovny?
And now evidently a whole bunch of women. Many women are addicted to sex, according to a new study. This information flies in the face of decades of studies that show that the affliction was mainly dominant in men. A self-confessed sex addict writes in her new book that “Whenever there was a crisis,” she said, “I found a man to take the edge off the feelings of helplessness and pain” — regardless of the upheaval she risked unleashing on her husbands and two children. This woman spared no qualms about being a homewrecker. “Adultery is the drink-driving of sex addiction,” she said. But is it an illness or just an uncontrollable fascination? And is there a difference?
