Jordans: Would You Rock These?

Wednesday, December 9, 2009

For the chicks that like to hang above the rim with their tongues hanging out, here's a stylistic nod to Michael Jordan that can have your holiday season in rare "air". The women's Jordans start at $179 and come in several colors , which should match up nicely with that short dress you want to sport. Wink.

John Legend closes on $1.9 million condo in NYC

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Soul crooner John Legend is laying down new roots in New York City. He recently signed a contract to buy a one-bedroom condo on 52 East 4th Street in the East Village. Look for sweet melodies to intertwine in the building. Recording artist Moby also lives in the building, which has an elevator and doorman.
Legend still has to tunload his apartment at 72 East 3rd Stree. That one was originally listed for $1.2 million, but he's recently cut it to $1.9 million. Any takers out there?
Just think, Legend can grab a condo in downtown Atlanta for twice the space and a quarter of the price. But evidently, as tAlicia Keys, so triumphantly puts i, "big lights will inspire you."

Bria Murphy: Eddie's little girl a model chick

Monday, December 7, 2009

When your father is the biggest comedian of the past quarter century, and her uncle is "Chollie" Murphy, it probably would have been kind of hard to keep a straight face growing up.
But Bria Murphy, the 19-year-old first born of Eddie and Nicole Murphy, has mastered a straight face and level head.
Bria is starting to catch the eye of the entertainment business elite as she's appeared on "America's Next Top Model" and appeared in a few videos, including Gucci Mane's "Spotlight" video. She's also been linked to R&B singer Pleasure P. But who is Bria Murphy?

Murphy grew up in Long Island, along with other siblings and mother Nicole. In 2006, Nicole and Eddie's divorce was finalized. Eddie subsequently began dating former Spice Girl Mel B (with which he had a child) while Nicole began seeing former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan.
Bria, meanwhile, has taken all this in and decided to forge a path for herself in Hollywood, where her father has a residence.
While there is no word on future projects Bria has on tap, there's no doubt we'll be seeing quite a bit of her in the near future.

Gabrielle Union: 'I was raped'

Hollywood actress Gabrielle Union gets her party on better than the next chick, but she can lend her famous face, time and energy to much-needed causes as well. She recently went before Congress to push for legislation that would help rape victims. Union shared a personal tale that few people knew about and something few women in general discuss: Rape.
“When I was 19 years old, I was raped," Union said. "I was working at a shoe store in California, and the store was robbed. The person robbing the store ended up putting a gun to my head and raping me. As he was raping me, I felt as though I was floating over myself, thinking, 'This isn't happening.' I blanked out and had an out-of-body experience, like I was hovering above seeing this -- horrible thing happen to someone else...not me."
Union said while the incident was horrifying it did not scar her forever, thanks to some timely intervention and care.
:I was fortunate enough to go the UCLA rape crisis center after this horrific ordeal. It gave me my life back. My dignity and self-esteem were gone and they helped me find them again."
That’s why I now lobby for state legislatures across the country and the federal government to help raise funds and awareness for rape crisis centers, and I speak to all different kinds of people across the country about what happened to me. My goal is to never hear the words ‘me too’ from someone after I say ‘I was raped.”
Go 'head, Gabby!

Riri: I cried when I heard Chris Brown song

Friday, December 4, 2009

Rihanna reportedly cried after hearing Chris Brown's "Changed Man", according to Rolling Stone.
The "Russian Roulette" singer was touched by the song, which has lyrics such as: I remember your touch, God, I miss you so much.
Please believe me, baby. I'm sorry.
And all this money and fame
Could never amount to every morning when I see your face.

Also, RiRi was recently strip-searched in an airport by security, according to the NY Post, which ran a photo of the actress that looked like she was shivering cold.
Are you telling me that airport security didn't recognize Rihanna? That they thought she could be a terrorist or smuggling something into the airport? Kinda strange if you ask me. I mean, we know she's a ''Good Girl Gone Bad, and all, and that she worships the devil, but come 'on, folks!
She's not riding with Al Qaeda. Yet.

Is Tiger a Dog?

Thursday, December 3, 2009

With the revelations of marital infidelity swarming golfer Tiger Woods there still is the matter of degree.
Not to minimize his unfaithfulness, but just how bad of a cheater is he? Does he have a sex addiction? Is he crazy? There are tons of questions out there. One of the more profound is there, does it even really matter?
The media (and the people who read and subscribe to them) love a good tale of hypocrisy. This is certainly it. But could it be that Tiger just got confused and let the power go to his head? Or is he just a dog (or even worse, a low-down dirty dog?
And just how big is Team Tiger, the stable of women that reportedly are acknowledging a relationship with Tiger?
One thing is certain, he may need Oprah, Jesse Jackson, Dr. Phil, and T.D. Jakes to help his image after this one.

When He Refuses to Use It

You're feeling this guy and he is all things awesome in several ways, but there's just one caveat that he insists on doing: Doing it. In the sack. Bareback.
Now, certainly in its place, bare is fair, but today with women and men jumping fences quicker than a dog with mange and diseases flying all through the air nstuff? With pestilence at an all-time high and health care at a crisis, is it wise?
What to do when he refuses to wrap it up?
Well, some may feel that they owe a long, drawn-out explanation that delves into "beliefs" and "theorys" and "how I waa raised" and all that.
And to all that, i say, phooey!
Get ghost. Tell him despite the good and true "feeling" i gives and all that, you're quite comfortable living life in good health.
This is not to say that he may be carrying (well, he might, but so may you) but the fact of the matter is, both of you should be protected from each other.
Anything else, is just uncivilized.

'Bug Chasers' still out to contract AIDs, HIV

With all the awareness about World AIDs Day and HIV prevention efforts, we think it's prudent to also spotlight a growing group that continue to go against the grain: Bug chasers.
Bug chasers are HIV negative gay men who try to contract HIV and AIDs by having sex with HIV positive men.
They often throw "conversion parties" and seek to hook up with carriers ("gift givers") that would help them to contract the disease.
Many people interviewed about why they would want such a dreadful disease cite the support and sympathy among the gay community for HIV-positive people.
All of this behavior flies in the face of those who put forth great effort to get the disease under control and stem its spread. And there is a big effort among gays against bugchasing, but the issue remains.
Many of them share the sentiment of "Carlos" who was quoted saying: "I know what the risks are, and I know that putting myself in this situation is like putting a gun to my head," in a 3Rolling Stone article in 200. Despite the risks, Carlos said, "But I think it turns the other guy on to know that I'm negative and that they're bringing me into the brotherhood. That gets me off, too."
It will get him off alright, off the planet.
